Proceedings of the Annual Meeting.
The following petition, signed by 80 of the inhabitants of this county, was presented to the Board:
We the undersigned citizens of said county, respectfully beg leave to state that in our opinion this county is very badly in need of a Jail, and humbly petition your honorable body to cause the same to be built with as little delay as possible.
On motion the Board adjourned until Wednesday next, at ten o'clock a.m.

The petition for building a Jail was taken up and considered, and on motion it was
Resolved, The sum of One Thousand Dollars be and is hereby appropriated for the purpose of building a Jail for the County of Alcona, out of any unappropriated funds belonging to the county.
