Four Alcona County Citizens Answer the Final Summons

Mrs. David Mercier
Mrs. Celestine Mercier, beloved wife of David Mercier of Haynes, died suddenly on Saturday morning, Feb. 1st, of heart disease, from which she had been a sufferer for a year.
Deceased was born in Quebec on August 1, 1847, and was married in Tweed, Ont., forty-eight years ago. The family came to Alcona county in 1899 and settled on the farm where they now live.
The deceased is survived by her husband and seven children, namely, Mrs. Demina Rose and David jr. of Haynes, Wm. J., James E. and Nelson of Flint, Mrs. Daniel Lemon of Onaway, and Mrs. Joseph Merow of Alpena. The surviving brothers and sisters are Mrs. John McLaughlin of Hawes, John Richway of Windsor, Ont., and Edw. Richway of Haynes.
All of the family were present at the funeral, which was held Monday from St. Ann's Catholic church, solemn high mass being conducted by Rev. Fr. Bouchard. The pallbearers were Messrs. Eli Douville, Triffle Charboneau, Frank Jobin, Arthur Dube, Gilbert Bonnard and Peter Rose.
