Marriage of Jack H. Holmes and Ethel Thomas.
HOLMES--THOMAS
--------
A very pretty wedding was solemnized at the Westminster Presbyterian church, Lansing, at three thirty o'clock, Saturday afternoon September 5th, when Miss Ethel Thomas, daughter of Mrs. Nicholas Thomas, of Alpena, became the bride of Jack H. Holmes, son of Mr. Henry Holmes, of Harrisville. Rev. Cornelius Muilenburg performed the ceremony, before an altar of palms and baskets of orchid and white gladiolus.
The bride was lovely in a gown of Autumn Russet chiffon velvet with a hat to match, and carried an arm bouquet of Tallisman roses. The bridesmaid, Miss Margaret Keating, of Alpena, wore wine chiffon velvet with matching accessories, and carried Jonathan roses and pink asters.
Mr. Leonard Thomas, of Alpena, brother of the bride, attended the groom.
A reception was held following the ceremony at the home of the bride's sister, Mrs. R. C. Masters and Mr. Masters, of Lansing, seventy-five guests being in attendance.
The happy couple left on a motor trip through Kentucky. They will be at home at 206 Grand River Ave., Lansing, after September 15th.
Guests from Alpena, Harrisville, Grand Blanc, Kinde, Detroit, and Lakeside, Ohio were present.
