Walter Shields Passed Away Suddenly Sunday

Walter Shields, a prominent citizen of Harrisville, died at his home here about 1:30 P.M. Sunday of heart trouble. Walter had been confined to his home for the past two months, off and on, with the disease but no immediate alarm was felt.
Walter Shields was born in Forrestville, Michigan April 19, 1884. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Shields. Mr. Shields proceeded him in death several years ago. Mrs. Shields, his mother, survives him. On June 20th, 1906 he was united in marriage to Miss Edith Colwell, at Harrisville. Following his marriage they moved to Carneyville, Wyoming, where they made their home until about 1922, when they returned to Harrisville. In 1923 hey moved to Detroit, and returned to Harrisville a little over a year ago. He has been employed at the Ferguson Grocery.
He is survived by his widow, his mother, Mrs. Katherine Shields of Harrisville; three daughters, Mrs. Ione Synder, Mrs. Herbert Pilkiss, of Detroit, and Miss Dorothy Shields at home; and one son Kenneth of Detroit; one sister, Mrs. Alex Ferguson, of Harrisville and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon, from the Methodist Church, Rev. C. S. Brown officiating. Interment was made in the Springport Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: J. R. Miller, Jos. Baror, W. J. MacDonald, Fred Green, Cleve Noyes, and Ira Johnson.
