Dead In Lincoln Home

George W. Thorner, a resident of Alcona County for over sixty years, was found dead in his home in Lincoln about ten o'clock Wednesday morning. The body was discovered by his brother, Joseph Thorner, who became concerned when he failed to see any signs of life about the house for some time previous to the investigation. The forced his way in, as all doors were locked, and found the body lying on the floor.
An investigation by Coroner Smith and Prosecuting Attorney J. Russell Hughes, proved the cause of death to be from a heart attack, suffered on Tuesday.
Obituary
George W. Thorner was born in Whattford, Canada, on January 12, 1876, the son of the late William and Martha Thorner. When a small child he came with his parents to Alcona County and they made their home in Haynes Township until moving to Lincoln in 1911. He lived in Lincoln until death occurred.
A harness maker by trade, he followed this profession for thirty years. Fraternally, he was a member of the I.O.O.F.
He married Christine Somers of Haynes, who passed away in 1931.
Surviving are two sons, George A. of Detroit, and Joseph M., present Mayor of Standish. Two brothers and three sisters also survive: Joseph, of Lincoln; Arthur of Port Huron; Mrs. James McDonald of Port Huron; Mrs. Maude Burke of Flint; and Mrs. Russell Hulbert of Newberry, Michigan; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at two o'clock Saturday afternoon from the Smith Funeral Home in Lincoln. Rev. L. L. Lewis will officiate and burial will be in Twin Lakes Cemetery.
